is a German performance artist. Some of his work, as for example "This Variation" (s. above) and "This is exchange" are very interesting for my project as they use human sounds and communication. Sehgal's work is also only active as long as a visitor is present, which makes the interaction necessary.

"Citizen Kane" Slow Clap
This slow clap scene from the film "Citizen Kane" stands in another context than my project: "Kane" claps after a mediocre act of his wife in the opera to support her. Especially strong as it was him who made her do it. So it's not originally an applause that is supposed to make others feel uncomfortable. But in one sense it is contextually connected to my projected: "Kane" puts himself through the strong applause in a very uncomfortable/awkward position.
